Germaine Pataki-Thériault has grown up surrounded by art and artists and has worked in the gallery on a casual basis for much of her life. She has had a life long interest in art history. She is a keen art collector and promoter of the arts . Germaine has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick and worked as a Project Manager with the NB Department of the Environment before joining Gallery 78 full time in 2005. She has since become a qualified appraiser with the International Society of Appraisers.
Germaine is an active community volunteer, currently participating as an executive board member of the Fredericton Playhouse and the Women and Business Network, while she is also a member of the Fredericton Women’s Executive and the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce’s Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee. She has assisted the Beaverbrook Art Gallery with various initiatives, served on the boards of the Atlantic Ballet Theatre Company of Canada and Dance Fredericton and has volunteered with the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival for many years. Germaine is married to Lévis Thériault who hails from the Acadian north shore and has two delightful daughters, Veronique (Nikki) and Sophie, who all love Gallery 78 and are active participants.
