To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Joseph Plaskett’s life, Gallery 78 is excited to present A Centenary an exhibition of oils and pastels from the artist’s estate from July 12 to August 5, 2018. Joseph Plaskett’s chosen subjects were intimate examinations of daily life – interiors of his Paris apartment, still life, portraits of friends, landscapes of his Suffolk garden and pastel sketches of his travels. There is a warm humanity to his work, wrapped around his love of light, form and colour.

Joe (1918-2014) made remarkable contributions to Canadian culture during his life, both with his art and with the Joseph Plaskett Foundation which bestows one of Canada’s most significant art awards to Canadian graduate student painters.
