Composition of Memory” is a personal exploration of faded moments and experiences.  Each locket contains fragments of childhood memories that influenced who I have become.  My hope is that these pieces spark something in the viewer that speaks to their unique experience, allowing them to form their own bond with these magical objects.

ARTIST STATEMENT:

A locket is instantly recognized as an object that has a story to tell.  It draws us in and compels us to open the tiny, hinged door to discover something within.

“Composition of Memory” is a personal exploration of faded moments and experiences.  Each locket contains fragments of childhood memories that influenced who I have become.  My hope is that these pieces spark something in the viewer that speaks to their unique experience, allowing them to form their own bond with these magical objects.

Living in an era that is characterized by disposable objects has compelled me to create pieces that are more than ephemeral trinkets to be acquired and quickly forgotten.  I want everything I create to someday reach the status of ‘heirloom’.  My goal is to combine materials that have a high level of permanence with quality craftsmanship and classic design to create lasting objects to be cherished and admired for generations to come.
