Inge Pataki, born in Germany, moved to Fredericton in 1970 when her husband James joined the Brunswick String Quartet at the University of New Brunswick. Art studies began in Germany in painting and sculpture and continued in Canada with Molly Lamb Bobak. Her watercolours were seen in many solo and group exhibitions, invitational and juried, among them the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour and the Beaverbrook Art Gallery; and are part of numerous private, corporate and public collections. In 1976 Inge Pataki opened Gallery 78 Fine Art, showing paintings, works on paper and sculpture by contemporary Canadian artists, with emphasis on the art making in the Maritimes. |
