Eviscera
Carol Collicutt and WhiteFeather

The exhibition features conceptual three dimensional works by two established Fredericton artists, Carol Collicutt and WhiteFeather. The two bodies of work, viewed together, present a challenge to the viewer to re-consider social conceptions of the physical ideal. Everything about this exhibition, from the materials used (human hair, bones, feathers, pig gut, found materials) to the forms created, challenges conventional notions of beauty and provokes the viewer to re-consider the taken-for-granted ideals of the human body and the way we think of ourselves in the world. It asks us to question our values and evaluate our positions, to address our inner obsessions and our fears.
